Jon Moxley has maintained a unique relationship with NJPW, operating under a handshake deal even after winning the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Windy City Riot. 



Initially signing a six-month agreement with NJPW, Moxley&#8217;s bond with the promotion has continued based on mutual trust and respect, despite his significant status in the wrestling world. 



In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Moxley spoke about his approach to working in Japan, emphasizing learning and growth from his experiences rather than imposing his style.

&#8220;When I first came to Japan, I wanted to understand it and participate in it,” Moxley shared. “That allowed me to learn and grow. I didn’t come in and say, ‘This is what I do and this is what we’re doing.’ Everyone I wrestled, I learned from. I’ve really been able to grow a lot working with New Japan. It’s been a mutually beneficial relationship. They get me, and I get them.&#8221;
